Description
Daskara Village is located in the Central Province, within the Kandy District. It lies across surrounding regions such as Dehiattakandiya, Ambagamuwa, and Kotmale. The area serves as a center for mosques, schools, and community organizations.
For several centuries, this region has been known as a hub for Islamic education and religious culture. Many educational institutions and religious organizations operate here, contributing to its strong identity.
One of the most prominent institutions in the area is the Al Haqqaniyya Arabic College.
In 1905, religious education in this area was initiated by a person known as "Bogawatte Appa." Over time, it became widely recognized as a madrasa. Islamic religious education was provided, and gradually the institution expanded, becoming a key center of learning for many students.
Through this institution, many students have gone on to pursue higher education and excel in society.
From 1989 onwards, the institution was formally organized, and its educational activities were further expanded.
